The 2012 AGM was held at the DASSH Conference on 13 September at the ANU in Canberra

Sustainability in an ‘ERA’ of Change, 13–14 September 2012

Hosted by the Australian National University, the 2012 DASSH Conference provided discussions around the impact of ERA, base funding in an uncapped system, UK changes, academic career development, the big compliance issues and TEQSA’s progress.

Some highlights included international guest speakers, Vice Chancellor of London Metropolitan University, Professor Malcolm Gillies, speaking about the UK sector experience and reflecting on his personal career journey, and Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the National University of Singapore, Professor Brenda Yeoh shared her experience of internationalisation.

2012 is the second year that we were joined by both the Network of Associate Deans (Learning and Teaching) and the Network of Associate Deans (Research). The conference provides an opportunity for both senior faculty staff to discuss overall strategic directions together but also allows time for member and network groups to pursue issues relevant to their areas of expertise.
