Professor Amanda Mooney is the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) in the Faculty of Arts and Education and Deakin University. Amanda oversees a comprehensive course portfolio that prepares future-ready learners across the diverse disciplines of Education (including teacher education), Communications, Creative Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Amanda is a passionate advocate of teaching, learning and assessment in higher education and inclusive practices to support student experiences and graduate outcomes. Amanda is a member of the Research for Educational Impact (REDI) strategic research and innovation centre, and her research focuses on addressing issues that constrain socially just practices in schooling (e.g., health and physical education), education and women’s professional sport. Most recently her research activity has focused on innovative models of teacher education to address growing issues of teacher workforce supply.
