In 2025–26, DASSH strengthened its role as a collective voice for the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, with a continued focus on member engagement, policy advocacy and sector collaboration. We expanded opportunities for members to connect and contribute through our Communities of Practice, mentoring program, working groups and dedicated activities across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Throughout the year, DASSH contributed to significant higher education policy discussions and consultations, advocating for the value and contribution of our disciplines to students, universities and communities. We also continued to strengthen our governance and organisational foundations, positioning DASSH to build its influence, support its members and respond collectively to the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.

Highlights from the past year include:

• The launch of the full-year Mentoring Program for DASSH members
• Regular events and an in-person conference
• A new Teaching and Learning Network
• The second year of the Research Network
• A new Bachelor of Arts working group
• Six policy submissions informed by member engagement and one government inquiry
• An ongoing census project mapping the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities across Australia and Aotearoa
