Hamish Maxwell-Stewart is a professor of Heritage and Digital Humanities at the University of New England and CEO of Digital History Tasmania. Over the last 15 years he has worked with family and local history groups, archivists and academics to image, digitise and link 2.5 million Tasmanian historical records.

Building a Convict Memorial: Since 2020 Hamish has worked with the Tasmanian Government, the National Trust Tasmania, the Tasmanian Archives and other organisations to design, develop and build a digital convict memorial for Hobart. He is now building links between this and other sites in Australia and overseas.
