We are inviting experienced leaders in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities across Australia and Aotearoa to become DASSH mentors for our pilot 2025 Mentorship Program.
Getting involved as a mentor is a great way to share insights, resources and strategies developed across careers in higher education with other colleagues. It is also a great learning opportunity for both mentors and mentees alike.
Mentors can:
- Establish new relationships across different disciplines and institutions.
- Connect with senior, junior and upcoming leaders in Australia and Aotearoa.
- Share and learn about different approaches and strategies.
- Continue to develop leadership experience.
Applications are open to senior leaders including Pro Vice-Chancellor, Executive Dean and Dean. Senior Associate and Deputy Deans will also be considered.

Commitment
Being a DASSH mentor involves committing to four one-hour sessions with an allocated mentee between July to December 2025.
These sessions are dedicated to providing guidance in areas of professional development. This may include areas including leadership, capacity building, strategy planning and career development.
The specific goals, areas of focus and desired outcomes of mentoring are agreed upon by both mentor and mentee according to respective goals and areas of experience.
Being a mentor does not involve any additional reading or commitment outside of the four sessions. DASSH takes care of the administration of the program, so that mentors and mentees can focus on professional development.
Mentor applications close on 26 May 2025.
