Professor Jennifer Balint is Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne. She joined the University of Melbourne in 2002, establishing Australia’s first Socio-Legal Studies program. Professor Balint was formerly Head of the School of Social and Political Sciences, and has also held the role of Discipline Chair. Throughout her career, Professor Balint’s approach to academic practice and leadership has included forging strong partnerships with industry, government, and community organisations. She is currently collaborating on the book Just Methods: Communities of Practise in Law and Society Research.
