Andrea Witcomb is an internationally renowned scholar in the fields of cultural heritage and museum studies. She is known for her work on interpreting difficult heritage and staging cross cultural encounters through affective interpretation strategies as well as collecting histories. She is an experienced research mentor for ECRs and highly experienced in research management. Currently the Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Arts and Education at Deakin University, she was previously the Deputy Director for the Alfred Deakin Research Institute, carrying governance and research portfolios. She is responsible for setting a framework for research strategy in the Faculty and contributes to the governance of research at University level.
