Around 30 DASSH members gathered at the Te Herenga Waka Victora University of Wellington (VUW) campus for our recent Aotearoa in-person member gathering. We were pleased to have so many engaged voices in the room. Points of interest included:
- A keynote presentation from Professor Paul Spoonley on the future demographic trends of Aotearoa.
- A member-led panel discussion on how universities are supporting innovations in the humanities.
- Workshops for Deans and Heads of Schools to reflect on discussion topics and set the agenda for the year ahead.
We’d like to especially thank Dean Amo Aronui Averil Coxhead from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Te Wāhanga Aronui at VUW for hosting the member gathering, with support from DASSH Vice President Professor Cynthia White, Pro Vice-Chancellor, College of Humanities and Social Sciences Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University.
We look forward to continuing the conversation and reporting on progress from the day.
